Chinese Mainland Slams Taiwan's Democratic Progressive Party for False Democracy

INTERNATIONAL: The Chinese mainland has slammed Taiwan's Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authorities for its false democracy.

It was a joke that the DPP authorities have sent officials to attend the U.S. democracy summit, the spokesman of Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, Ma Xiaoguang has said Wednesday at a press conference in Beijing.

"It once again revealed the nature of its hypocritical democracy to seek 'Taiwan independence'. Its presence at the meeting only added a bit of joke to the so-called 'democracy summit' improvised by the U.S.," Ma has said.

The spokesman has raised ten questions about the DPP's democracy in Taiwan.

"We want to ask the DPP: What kind of democracy is it when it suppresses dissidents, manipulate ethnic antagonism and divide the society in Taiwan out of the interest of the party? What kind of democracy is it to talk bluntly and write bad checks during the election, and forget about the promises to the people after the election? What kind of democracy is it to trade power for money, conduct black gold politics, collect illegal donations, engage in illegal interceding and seek private interests for individuals and political parties?" Ma said.

Ma has also asked about the DPP's acts to suppress public opinion, create a chilling effect by closing the Chung T'ien Television despite the public anger.

"What kind of democracy is it to suppress public opinion and create a chilling effect by closing the Chung T'ien Television despite the public anger? What kind of democracy is it to create 'green terror', suppress political parties, organizations and individuals that advocate cross-Strait exchanges and support national reunification, and deprive the people of Taiwan of the legitimate rights and interests of cross-Strait exchanges and cooperation? What kind of democracy is it to collude and rely on foreign anti-China forces to seek 'Taiwan independence', win the favor of foreign countries at the expense of Taiwan's material resources, the interests and even the health and welfare of people in Taiwan?" he said.

He has also mentioned the DPP's moves to collude and rely on foreign anti-China forces to seek "Taiwan independence," win the favor of foreign countries at the expense of Taiwan's material resources, the interests and even the health and welfare of people in Taiwan.

"What kind of democracy is it to please external anti-China forces on the issue of supply chain and industrial chain regardless of the interests of Taiwan's enterprises and the future of Taiwan's economy?" he said.

Ma has asked what kind of democracy it is to treat lies as truth like Paul Joseph Goebbels did, manipulate populism by constantly spreading false news that attacks and smears the mainland, create the farce of 'cognitive warfare' and incite cross-Strait confrontation.

"What kind of democracy is it to play up the so-called 'military threat from the mainland', use the money earned by people's hard work to buy arms from its foreign masters and push the people of Taiwan into the chariot of 'Taiwan independence' and push them into disaster?" he questioned.

He also asked the DPP what kind of democracy it is to intervene in Hong Kong affairs overtly and secretly, peddling the so-called "Hong Kong aid plan" and posing as a "democracy defender." Even the media in Taiwan has claimed that the DPP authorities were making use of the turmoil in Hong Kong in exchange for votes, Ma has revealed.
